Painter Markku Pääkkönen
Painter Markku Pääkkönen (b. 1955) graduated from the Free Art School in 1981. Mr Pääkkönen has provided works for numerous exhibitions both in Finland and aboard, and in the last few years he has concentrated on works of public art that are incorporated into architecture. Mr Pääkkönen has been awarded a government five-year artist's grant for years 2006 - 2010.
Mr Pääkkönen and his family are residents of the Lallukka Artists' Home in Helsinki. The artist's works are presented in more detail on his own web site at markkupaakkonen.fi
